Communications Capacity Building Member
Position Summary
Through the Souris Basin Planning Council Community Builder Program, the Communications Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Marketing Manager with various outreach and communications tasks, including; sending emails to farmers and partners, coordinating with farmers, collecting content for our blog, calendar, and social media. This individual will also assist in planning social media content and managing our media archive. They will collaborate with FARRMS staff in creating any new outreach or marketing materials and continue maintaining existing marketing activities. Additional outreach and communications tasks may be added if needed.
Key Responsibilities
Outreach & Communications Tasks:
-Sending outreach emails to contact lists promoting upcoming events.
-Assisting in production of 2026 farmer calendar by sending outreach emails to farmers and photographers, edit farmer bios to a standard length, and collect recipes.
-Contacting and collecting articles from farmers for our monthly Producer’s Perspective blog post series.
Marketing & Social Media Tasks:
-Assisting in creating and planning social media content.
-Updating media archive of published articles about FARRMS.
AmeriCorps Member Tasks:
-Participate in AmeriCorps training and activities as required by Souris Basin Planning Council.
Time Commitment
This is a remote work opportunity at a minimum of 6 hours per week for 300 hours to be completed before September 30, 2025.
Compensation
Member will receive up to $4,200 total (roughly $14/hour) and is eligible for a $150 monthly grocery or rent stipend, and an education award up to $1,565.08 upon completion of service.
