We offer loans to help you launch and grow your sustainable farm, ranch, or local food business. FARRMS’ loans provide an opportunity for beginning farmers to establish their businesses and build history so they are better able to apply for financing from other sources.
FARRMS accepts applications on an ongoing basis. Applicants who have completed Farm Beginnings or a similar business planning course qualify to have the interest waived in year one. We are thrilled to share our experience with FARRMS and how their loan program has significantly impacted our farming journey. With their support, we were able to take a crucial step forward in our agricultural enterprise by purchasing a high tunnel and investing in essential tools to enhance efficiency.

Due to a lack of access to traditional financing and a desire to go into as little debt as possible, we faced significant challenges in expanding our farming operation. The upfront costs associated with acquiring a high tunnel were daunting, and without adequate financial assistance, we struggled to make progress, even after obtaining an NRCS EQIP grant. However, FARRMS provided us with the opportunity we needed to realize our vision.With the loan from FARRMS, we were able to purchase a high tunnel, a vital asset that has revolutionized our farming practices. The high tunnel has not only extended our growing season but has also decreased pest pressure on some of our highest value crops, leading to increased yields and profitability.
After receiving our EQIP reimbursement, we utilized the loan to invest in tools and equipment aimed at improving efficiency on the farm. From innovative irrigation systems to time-saving implements, these investments have streamlined our operations, saving both time and resources while maximizing productivity.
