Crooked Lane Farm Folk School

Colfax, ND
Mary Jo Schmid & Brent Larson

Crooked Lane Farm Folk School (CLFFS) is a North Dakota Century Farm located on the Wild Rice River between Abercrombie and Colfax in North Dakota. The Larson family has owned and farmed Crooked Lane Farm since 1912. Brent Larson and Mary Jo Schmid continue the family tradition of farming as well as developing the farmstead into a folk school and event center. They host classes, events, and activities that encourage creativity, personal growth, and reflect the historical and traditional values of rural community. Their peaceful rural farmstead is the perfect location for retreats, off-site meetings, workshops, and training sessions. It is an ideal spot for family reunions and celebrations. They offer tours and custom activities for groups and families. CLFFS is a year-round facility that allows for relaxed, purposeful gatherings. Schmid and Larson have diversified their farming practices to include raising grapes, apples, and community gardening.
